A female South Australian police officer was stabbed in the chest while arresting a 28-year-old suspect, who has since been charged with attempted murder.
Police said they attended the home in Ceduna, about 775km northwest of Adelaide, on Thursday evening and found a 34-year-old woman with a number of injuries.
Two officers then attempted to arrest a 28-year-old suspect, known to the victim, at the home, but police allege he became violent and stabbed the female officer in the chest.

“Thankfully she was saved by her multipurpose load-bearing vest,” a police spokesperson said.
“Both police officers were shaken by the incident, but luckily sustained only minor physical injuries.”
The 28-year-old was Tasered and then arrested.
The 34-year-old victim was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
The suspect was charged with two counts of attempt murder, assaulting an emergency service worker and attempting to escape from custody.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Ceduna Magistrates Court today.
