A 34-year-old woman was also arrested in relation to the incident two days later at another motel on Armidale Rd.

She was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with concealing a serious indictable offence, and being an accessory after the fact to reckless wounding.

She appeared at Tamworth Local Court on January 29, and granted conditional bail to reappear at the same court on February 14.

Then, at 2pm on Tuesday, NSW police attended a home on Kirkham Cres, Tamworth, where they found the 43-year-old man “hiding in the roof cavity”.

He was arrested and charged with reckless wounding.

The man appeared at Gunnedah Local Court on Wednesday and was formally refused bail. He is set to appear at Tamworth Local Court on February 12.
