A Gold Coast man has been accused of trying to stab another man to death in a Brisbane CBD hotel.
The 42-year-old man from Varsity Lakes allegedly stabbed a 48-year-old man at the Mantra on Mary St about 10.30am on Sunday.
The older man suffered “multiple stab wounds” to his stomach, police allege.

He also sustained lacerations to his arms and legs.
He was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the two men are known to each other and no other suspects were being sought.

The 42-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.
He remains behind bars ahead of an expected appearance in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
