A man has died nearly two weeks after he was allegedly struck by another man who was accused of fleeing the scene on a scooter on the Gold Coast.
The alleged 50-year-old attacker has had his charge upgraded from serious assault to manslaughter after the 75-year-old man’s death in Gold Coast University Hospital on Thursday.

The older man was walking on Marine Pde in Labrador on October 6 when he and the man on the scooter got into an argument, according to police.
The rider has been accused of getting off the vehicle then walking up to the man and striking him.
The impact caused the man to fall and hit his head, police said.

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition, but “passed away from his injuries”, police said on Friday.
Police released footage of the accused man allegedly fleeing the scene on the scooter in a bid to find him.
He was arrested and charged on October 9.
The Gold Coast man is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on the upgraded charge on Friday.
