A friend of Brad Thompson, an Adelaide motorcyclist killed in a collision with a car on his way to work, said the 45-year-old’s family was “robbed” of an amazing father.
Thompson was killed when his Kawasaki motorbike and a Mazda sedan crashed, just after 8pm on Sunday on the Philip Hwy in Elizabeth.
The 45-year-old father of five recently was re-married, after his first wife died from cancer.

Christopher Bennett, 29, has been charged with aggravated driving without due care and driving while disqualified following the smash.
Outside court following his first appearance on Monday, Bennett apologised to Thompson’s family and expressed his remorse.
“To the family of the man that passed away last night, sorry does not even begin to … sorry does not mean anything in comparison to how you guys feel right now,” Bennett said outside Elizabeth Magistrates Court.
“I would just like you guys to know how devastated I am and how much I’m feeling for you guys over this tragedy.”

But Thompson’s friend of 33 years, Scott Frankham, said the apology would not change the devastating impact on Thompson’s family.
“I’m angry. I’m sad. I’m bitter. I’m lost,” Frankham said.
“He helped everyone. He was a friend….he was a big part of my kids’ lives. He was instrumental in the lives of all the people in his family, and the people in my family.
Thompson’s wife, Karen, was present when her husband was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
Frankham became emotional as he described the marriage of his friend with Karen as being a second chance for the couple after they had both experienced hardships in their life.

“How does your second chance get taken away? It’s just robbery, and that’s just what it feels like,” he said.
Bennett was released on bail, to next appear in court in January.
