More than 30 people have been charged as police crack down on golf buggy drink-driving offences on Hamilton Island.
The police blitz at the famous holiday spot follows a spate of serious incidents over the past year.
Whitsunday police charged more than 30 people with drink-driving offences and issued more than 20 traffic infringement notices as part of Operation Victor Boston, in a bid to improve road safety on the island.

“Targeting the fatal five — speeding, intoxication, failure to wear a seat belt, driver fatigue and distraction — Mackay officers conduct regular proactive patrols and operations within the district,” Queensland police said.
In August last year, a 29-year-old Sydney woman was killed on her honeymoon when a buggy she was in crashed on the island.
A 70-year-old woman was flown to Mackay Hospital in March this year with leg injuries after a buggy crashed into her while she was walking around the island.
And in May a 21-year-old Gold Coast woman was also flown by helicopter to Mackay Hospital with significant facial injuries after the buggy she was a passenger in crashed.
The luxury destination has also been in the news recently amid rumours the island is up for sale for an estimated $1 billion.
